Lead Pastor

Pastor Harris has been leading the church with fresh vision, excitement, passion, and creative ideas to win Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas for Christ. Pastor Harris has a heart to see lives transformed by the power of God and to see people experience new life!

The lead pastor develops the church vision, provides organizational management oversight, serves as the primary preacher/teacher and partners with the Executive Board.

Pastoral Care Pastor

Pastor Mark joined the First Open Bible team in November 2020. He brings with him many years of pastoral ministry experience and, just prior to joining our team, served on the faculty of a Christian university in Bethany, Oklahoma for 9 years. He currently serves as the Pastoral Care Pastor, assisting the Lead Pastor in congregational care.

Pastor Mark is part of the Wednesday teaching rotation and fills the pulpit as needed.

Youth Pastor and Digital Media Assistant

Kayla is responsible for leading, mentoring, and supporting the teens (grades 6-12) at First Open Bible. She has a heart for youth and will use that passion to help guide them during an integral time in their lives.

The Youth Pastor is also responsible for maintaining a team of dedicated volunteers to continue to pour into the lives of the students.

KidsMin Director

Ariana supports, helps, assists and serves as a vital part of KidsMin by maintaining ministry information, preparing and distributing curriculum materials and offering administrative support. As the KidsMin Director Ariana is responsible for ensuring thoughtful age-appropriate lessons are available for children ages birth-5th grade during services.

The KidsMin Director is also responsible for maintaining a team of dedicated volunteers to work with the children during services.

KidsMin Assistant

Hailey joined the team in 2024 and provides supports, helps, assists and co-leads First Open Bible KidsMin. She works directly with the KidsMin Director to ensure that the children of First Open Bible get an opportunity to learn about the love of Jesus.

Creative Director and Spiritual Development Specialist

Sarah supports and encourages teams by leading in ideations, solving problems and generating new ideas and concepts within the church. She works and collaborates with all ministries in strategic and creative planning.  She works passionately to ensure that sermon series, church events, and announcements have specialized imaging to go with them.  Sarah is also responsible for designing all of our marketing and promotional items.

Josh Mains

Sound & Tech Director

Josh oversees the entire sound and tech department at our church.  He works closely with the worship team to ensure that services sounds incredible for all in attendance. Josh was an integral support in navigating the ability to livestream services across many platforms.  Josh regularly identifies areas of growth surrounding sound and tech at First Open Bible to ensure that services, weddings, funerals, and livestreams run seamlessly.

Lead Worship Minister

Brent oversees the worship/music ministry team of the church by developing, coordinating and administering Spirit-led worship. Brent leads a team of dedicated musicians and singers to bring worship at every service.

Stewardship Director

Karolyn supports the management of financial processes and record keeping, including processing cash receipts, dispersing payments, preparing reports and providing support to all ministries.

Rick Enyart

Rick Enyart

Facilities Director

Rick joined the team at the start of 2025. His primary role is to oversee all facilities operations both inside and out. He shows his love for the Church by ensuring that the Lord’s house is in tip top shape! Rick also oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the church parsonages and vehicles.  Rick has been a dedicated member of First Open Bible for many years and he would LOVE to greet you with a smile at the next service!

Office Manager & Pastoral Admin

Sherri is key role in the church office.  She supports, helps, assists and serves by completing administrative processes, providing receptionist coverage, and supporting the pastoral team. Additionally Sherri provides support to other ministry operation teams including organizational and financial administration.

Office Secretary

Kayla joined the team at the start of 2025.  She supports, helps and assists the office manager by providing reception coverage and other office duties.  She is a full time nursing student at Kirkwood Community College and is also a part of the worship team, as well as a youth leader.

Pastor Emeritus

Pastor Stevens has served at First Open Bible for 50+ years. He serves as the lead pastor’s mentor and provides spiritual guidance to all leadership. Pastor Stevens has retired from active lead pastor, but continues to serve and has earned the honorable title of Pastor Emeritus.

What does the Executive Board do?
Board members provide spiritual oversight, long-term vision and operational boundaries for the functioning of the whole church as an organization. While they focus on these items, they entrust the implementation of their direction into the hands of staff and other ministry leaders, through the leadership of the lead pastor. They focus their energy on the biblical mandate to lead and shepherd the whole church.

The Board of Elders serves as ambassadors of Jesus Christ, as a representative of the congregation who have an interest in the ministry at First Open Bible.

The Board’s responsibilities have both routine and varied aspects.

Throughout each monthly meeting the Board of Elders tackles important issues for the church, including:

  •  Overseeing the overall vision and future direction of the church;
  •  Creating policies to clearly define church values and operating procedures;
  •  Ensuring the teachings and practices of the church reflect accurate biblical theology;
  •  Protecting the Church by providing direction on financial risk management issues; and
  •  Supervising the lead pastor for accountability;
  •  Ensuring the vision and values remain consistent.
